Technological convergence and technology evolution is accelerating human-machine confluence. Take for example Futuremed 2011. Event topics include robotics, personalized medicine, neuromedicine, regenerative medicine, etc. A full list is here. Information technology is present in almost every topic.
Nanotechnology has also a huge application on future medicine. And, because future nanobots (nano + robots) probably will need information and communication technologies, it is another example of such convergence.
Such argument becomes even stronger when we consider Anthony Atala TED talk. Who could imagine to print human organs in 3D? The application is on regenerative medicine.
